Behind the Globe

It’s all about time…

I’m still getting used to working 4 days a week – the time seems to fly past, with 12 hours of my day, 4 times a week, being taken up for work. Circumstances have changed a lot in my house – roles have been reversed somewhat, and it is taking a lot of adjusting. It seems like I used to have a lot of time, once (although I was always busy). Now, it seems like I don’t have enough. I am having to prioritise, juggle, focus and stick to a plan – something I’m not very good at, and it’s a huge learning curve not only for me, but for my family. As I said, I’m not good at it, but it’s something I have to focus more on.

I have been very lucky to be able to fit in visits and travelling with Jan, Mary, Shelley & Kerrianne … Read More

Light and easy

Over the last month I have been having a ball leaving my DSLR at home and walking out of the house with just my iPhone … it is so liberating!

Brilliant Idea!

I love the Creative Memories Product Catalog.  So Excited to have gotten my new one for the Spring and Summer 2012 recently.  Guess that means I should throw away my Fall/Winter 2011 Catalog huh????? NO WAY!… Read More

Thar be pirates!!

This past weekend, my husband and I left home for a 5 day trip. It’s been ages since we’ve gotten away – totally away from computers, yard work and laundry. We try to go to each of the grandchildren’s activities on Saturday and that includes T-ball, soccer for 2 children, and dance lessons for 2 more. But assured that pictures would be taken and sent, we headed off for fun adventures!… Read More

Waiting…Waiting…Waiting

What it is about waiting that none of us seem to like very much?  “Wait, don’t go yet until it says we can walk.” “Wait your turn”. ‘Hold on, wait a minute”.

Pixie Picks for May

What a fantastic time we had at our p2P ‘Best of’ NSD Crop this weekend!  It was so much fun to see your pages and to watch you try new things, learn new techniques, and break out of your boxes!  Thanks to all who participated.

Some of us even had time to do a little (or a lot!) of cropping along with you – we love it when that happens!  We’ve got some favorite kits this month, so I thought I’d share with you some of the pages we made with them.

Stuck for Words! Me? Never!

Some people won’t believe this, but today, I’m stuck for words. My blog is due and with everything that has been going on lately, what with the website crashing on us twice in a matter of weeks, the videos doing silly things like not playing, working my part time job and now preparing for a weekend of NSD cropping, I’ve been so busy, that nothing comes to mind.

Maybe I’ll blame it on the husband. He won’t mind! He always told me if ever I needed an excuse to get out of something, blame him! Hmmm! Well he has just spent six weeks home on long service leave, his third since he started work in the parks & gardens depot at the City of Geraldton (now called the City of Greater Geraldton), over 30 years ago. He’s longing to retire, and thought he would once he turned 65. That has … Read More

When the worst happens

If you have spent any time at all with us at pixels2Pages, you will know how often we remind you to back up your files. And I know you all agree that it is really a good thing to do. But how many of us have that task on our endless To Do list?

“Rabbit, Rabbit” and Happy May Day

If you’re new to pixels2Pages, you might not know about the custom of saying “Rabbit, Rabbit” on the first day of each month – legend has it that it brings good luck, and we can all use a little of that, right?  And today is May Day, which reminds me of Maypoles and flowery headdresses and the pretty pastel dresses of my youth.  I guess I’m giving my age away now!!

Leaving Tiki

1:00 PM Tiki time
Lunch at the Mosquito Café in Galveston.  Jeannine shows great insight in realizing I’m quiet because I’m already thinking of the goodbyes soon to come.  We learn we both eschew condiments and goodbyes, and we bond over that.  Speaking of Bond, I am beginning to wonder how soon I can find a way to see Tameka again.  How can I have gone all this time and not have met this remarkable woman?  My only regret is that I have only known her for two years.  I really wish I’d had the benefit of more time with her as I was growing up.  But I’m still growing up, right?  And she’s in my life now, so I remind myself to stop living in the past and future and truly embrace this moment.  She’s sitting right next to me.
