Crazy Busy Mad

October has been such a busy month. Well if I’m honest, every month has been busy – but this month even more so in my household. We’ve had Grand Final Weekend, (sort of like Superbowl in America) which is a huge event not only in Melbourne where it takes place, but right across the country – and even broadcast live to other countries around the world. This one was extra special – as my team was playing against a team that most other people (except their own supporters) love to hate. Everyone in my family follows Geelong (that’s my side of the family – but not my husband and son unfortunately). My parents came up for the big event – and the entire household was barracking like mad for Geelong. On all accounts it was a very exciting game, and thankfully my team won – gooooooo Cats!!!

Kim Mannino, United States

My name is Kim Mannino. I have lived in California all my life.

I enjoy taking photos of everyday moments – moments that capture where we live and what we like to do as a family – so most of my pictures involve family and friends.  I love pictures that capture the emotion of the moment.  I also like taking pictures of flowers.  I am just amazed at the detail and beauty of flowers when I am zoomed in.  When you look at the details you see things you didn’t even know were there.

I have two cameras – entry level Canon DSLR (purchased in 2005) and an iPhone 4.  Most of the time I use my Canon.  But, I don’t always have that camera with me.  My iPhone is always with me, so I am able to capture spur-of-the-moment pictures.

My personal digital scrapping style is exactly like my … Read More

Jenny MacKay, Australia

My name is Jenny MacKay. Since leaving school, getting married and having a family, I have lived in Geraldton, in the Midwest of Western Australia for 40 years. I grew up on a farm, in nearby Northampton and left there when I was 15. Although I call Geraldton my home, I have strong emotional feelings, when my birth home is mentioned.

Anne Lineberger, United States

My name is Anne Lineberger. I have lived in Belmont, NC, for 40 years but I call Florida my home state and really miss it when the snow starts falling up here!  I became a CMC in 1996 after attending a beginner class and spending much of it hopping from one person to another suggesting ideas for their page!

I find I typically take pictures of children, grandchildren, beach – water in most any form.

I use my trusty Canon Power Shot but am saving for a big girl camera.  I made the switch to digital maybe 4 or 5 years ago?  Haven’t looked back!

The photograph dictates how I start a page. So most pages go pretty quickly, but then sometimes, it’s fun to start doodling, adding, decorating – trying new things. I am so thankful for the team members who have created those great blueprints – that makes … Read More

Janice Gilhooley, Australia

My name is Janice Gilhooley. I have lived in Melbourne, Australia for 42 years.

If you’d asked me this question a few years ago, I would have said: “My children, my children, my children …………… and………… oh my children!!!”  Now I have two teenagers and I have found myself taking photos of all different types of subjects. It’s almost like I’ve gone back to my “pre-children” days. Only now – I look through the lens with an entirely different eye, and I have more options to fiddle with on my camera than I had before – and I’m even learning how to use them! Of course, I still take photos of my children – when they’ll let me. But now, I’m enjoying taking nature, buildings, food, anything at all that catches my eye. The Day2Day (Photo A Day) project has really made me branch out and gain a whole new … Read More

Justine Forrest, Australia

My name is Justine Forrest. I have lived on the far south coast of New South Wales, Australia for ten years, and I call anywhere that my family is home.

While we are all photographers, I have the privilege of taking pictures and getting paid for it!  Because of this I shoot anything and everything, however, I think that has more to do with the fact that I have got in the habit of taking my camera with me everywhere.  If you’ve ever taken a look at our Day2Day pages you will see that if I am ever stuck for my photo a day, I will often get out a cooking utensil (or find something equally unusual) and play with lighting and shadows.  Typically, I can be seen taking pictures of my family – my most favourite subjects. Work-wise, I love magazine work and weddings… I think that’s the storyteller … Read More

Jeannine Campbell, United States

Hey Scrap Cats! I’m Jeannine Campbell from South Harrison Township, NJ. My husband and I moved here 12 years ago and were blessed with 2 incredible children. My childhood memories were made in Wyomissing, PA, and my years between then in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA.

Since I carry my camera and/or iPhone everywhere, my typical subjects are anything but typical.  It could be cool clouds in a late day sky, a portrait of one of my children in a patch of beautiful light, or a funky building that I just couldn’t pass by without snapping away.

In my past life, I was a photojournalist.  Carrying my camera with me (almost) at all times became an early habit- so much so that I feel lost without it.  Currently I do most of my shooting with a Nikon D7000, a digital SLR.  But my other new passion is iPhoneography!  I have … Read More

Mary Browder, United States

My name is Mary Browder.  I have lived in Texas for  14 years, but I call Louisiana home.

I find I typically take pictures of my kids and my husband’s garden, and now while doing a Day2Day album, very random stuff, which has been fun!

I have three cameras – a Nikon D300, an Olympus pocket waterproof camera, and my iPhone camera.  I now use the iPhone most often, as it is always with me and convenient. If I’m making a special trip, the Nikon is my choice. For beach vacations, I use the waterproof one, of course, so I can take it into the waves!  I switched to digital the year before StoryBook Creator was released.
My personal digital scrapping style is very similar to my traditional style because I have always layered things.  The biggest difference are the overlays and surfaces, which I use all the time.  Blueprints … Read More

Tameka Bond, United States

I was born and raised in New York City.   I am a paralegal by day and I am a wife and mother of three children always. It is my family that feeds my love for scrapbooking.  In 2003, I became a Creative Memories Consultant with the help of my former up line, Taniella Harrison.   During the eight great years that I was a Creative Memories Consultant, I found that I would typically take pictures of family outings and my children’s everyday adventures.  This was really easy to do for me because I had made the move from film to digital photography just a few short years prior to becoming a Creative Memories Consultant.   Digital photography was a godsend as I was one of those people who would take tons of pictures, collect rolls of film…and NEVER develop them.  Sometime when I did develop them, the film had sat so long … Read More
