My name is Justine Forrest. I have lived on the far south coast of New South Wales, Australia for ten years, and I call anywhere that my family is home.

While we are all photographers, I have the privilege of taking pictures and getting paid for it!  Because of this I shoot anything and everything, however, I think that has more to do with the fact that I have got in the habit of taking my camera with me everywhere.  If you’ve ever taken a look at our Day2Day pages you will see that if I am ever stuck for my photo a day, I will often get out a cooking utensil (or find something equally unusual) and play with lighting and shadows.  Typically, I can be seen taking pictures of my family – my most favourite subjects. Work-wise, I love magazine work and weddings… I think that’s the storyteller in me!

When I started in photography I had a lovely film SLR camera that I thought I would never part with – there is something very special about film!  However, due to the demand for speedy digital images in the editorial world, I made the switch and have not shot a roll of film since.  That was in 2005 and the rest is history.  I bought a Canon 20D and three years later bought a Canon 7D and (three years is up) I’m about to purchase a Canon 5D.  My other camera of choice is my iPhone and all it’s fabulous photography apps … my favourite (at the moment) Snapseed, but I can never go past some good TiltShiftGenerator or a lovely Hipstamatic image :o)

When it comes to digital scrapbooking, the biggest difference I find when compared to traditional is the amount of mess I don’t make!  I love that I can work on a page for five minutes, not have to get out a bunch of tools (only to put them away again) and I have a page on the go, or finished and I have no mess to clean up.  I find in digital I get so much more done because of this!  The thing that has stayed the same is my style – clean and classic.

My family love my albums in whatever shape or form they come in.  They love seeing our family photos in them.  My husband likes that I have less stuff in boxes … oh, if he only knew what I can store now!!!

I am inspired by lots of things … Ordinary people doing extraordinary things inspires me.  I am inspired by images and things I see around me everyday.  Art inspires me. Colour inspires me. Nature inspires me.  My family inspires me.  This amazingly talented and inspiring bunch of women I get to work with here … they inspire me!

My main task with p2P has been looking after Blueprints (so I have been feeling a little lost this year … although there has been plenty of other things to keep me busy).  If I’m not working on Blueprints, I’m helping out in the Marketing Department, Design or IT or putting together some photography tips to help improve your photography.

I love all that I do at p2P and I’m so proud of all that we have achieved together.
