Merry Christmas, everyone!

Today, for the first time ever, we offer you a blog from a guest author.  This blog post is her gift to her mom and to all of us on the pixels2Pages team, and it’s a gift to you, too.  So from all of us at pixels2Pages and from our extended-around-the-world family, we send you blessings of the season!

Lucky for me, I have a mother who is beautiful, strong, intelligent, and incredibly talented. My mom is uniquely special because she is the only woman I know to be all of these aforementioned things all at the same time. While I could go on for days about the first three things, I have to say that her ability to create something magical out of a few pieces of paper and one or two photos is the one thing that inspired me years and years ago to invest in my creativity. Through her, I’ve learned precision, patience, organization, imagination, and so many other things. This woman, I must say, is one remarkable woman.

That woman is Kim Mannino. Many of you may know her for her hybrid projects, combining the use of digital scrapbooking and traditional scrapbooking to make one incredible piece of art. I know her for her dedication and investment, combining the use of creativity and hard work to make one incredible life.

I remember many, many years ago, my mom didn’t have digital scrapbooking and she kicked butt with all her projects as a consultant for Creative Memories with just her stickers, her papers, and her pictures. Unfortunately, that left messes that were worse than the worst my room has ever gotten. And then, digital scrapbooking came into the picture and the messes got a little smaller every day, but as her messes got smaller, her success got bigger.

When my mom first began work with her p2P teammates, she had recently been accepted onto the Digital Design Team for Creative Memories where she met Jan. I remember the day she got the news, she was so happy, probably the happiest I’ve ever seen her. She was beaming. I had never seen her eyes so bright and her smile so wide till that day. Then she made friends with the rest of the p2P team and suddenly those eyes were bright all the time and that smile was wide all the time.

When the development of p2P went underway, my mom was excited. She gave her heart and soul to this project and continues to give that and more every day. She works hard all day to create awesome and unique projects for the team. She loves this so much. She brags about her friends from all over the world all the time to us, telling us how crazy they are but definitely some of her best friends.

I just have to say that I am so grateful to the p2P team. Even though I’ve never met them and never even really spoken to them, I know that they love my mom and they love her family, too. Because of you, p2P, my mom is better than she ever was before and she was pretty darn cool before. As per usual, my mom always asks me to help her out when it comes to the writing, but this time she gave me a different assignment. Merry Christmas, p2P. This one’s for you 😀

‘Twas the Night Before Christmas—Pixie Style

‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the world

Not a creature was stirring save for the pixie girls

The computers were lit up, polished with care

In pursuit of what might be the greatest idea of theirs

The ladies were busy at work, families all snug in their beds

While visions of digital mastery danced in their heads

And Ms. Jan in the zone and us in line with her dream

We all had much to do before anyone could sleep

When out in Southern land, Anne chimed up with a clatter

She sprang to the phone to tell us what was the matter

Away to our computers, we knew that we must

To put together new workshops or new pixie dust

The moon was high, telling us it was late

But no pixie slept that night till all work had been saved.

When what to Jeannine’s wondering eyes should appear

But a brilliant idea worth sharing to her friends far and near

Our rock star, so lively and quick,

Called Tameka up to tell her about a new video tidbit

More rapid than eagles, the brains started churning

Shelley was already on top of writing the tips for learning

Now Justine was on the move, snapping photos for the peeps

New Blueprints were up before the next pixie had an epiphany

Carolyn found inspiration for a new project to manage

With the words flowing like water, we had ourselves a new challenge

Mary’s list of things to do grew longer by the minute

Workshops and archives and Start2Finish

Our eyes grew weary with sleep

But not one pixie falls to slumber till all succeed

And then, in a twinkling, we heard through the wind and fog

The prancing and pawing of each little blog

As we drew in our head the words of the night’s time

Kim was working on a hybrid project that would be fun and sublime

Lucky for us all, we have Jenny on our side

To assist in IT distress when we are lost in our cries

So up to Australia the pixie current went quickly

Where Janice and Kerriane could throw a creative pixie party

When we’d come full circle, our eyes how they twinkled in elation!

Our smiles were wide, what joy on this night of celebration

We sprang to our beds, to our team gave a whistle

And away we all went like the down of a thistle

But before we went to sleep, as we turned out the lights

“Merry Christmas to all, and to all a goodnight!”
