I love seeing pictures of Angela playing guitar.  This picture is extra special because she is playing my dad’s 12 string guitar.  Dad received the guitar as a Christmas gift in the 70’s.  I remember him and his friends gathering at the house on Sunday nights playing music.  John Denver was one of his favorites – and still is a favorite of mine.  A few years back dad gave Angela the guitar.  The next Christmas, Angela played Rocky Mountain High for dad.  When my brother and I were with dad in his last few weeks, Angela “skyped” into dad’s house and played Sunshine on My Shoulders.  There wasn’t a dry eye around!

And the rest of the story…….. My dad worked for the Oakland Tribune as a pressman. In 1978, he was in a printing press accident. He lost his right hand. The guitar sat un-opened in it’s case for many years. Sonja had the guitar restored before presenting it Angela

Catching up on my p2P posts, I have to admit that this one brought a tightness to my throat, how loving of your parents to pass on an important item to the next generation, AND for her to give back in such a special way… that’s when the throat tightened and my own memories of times that need to be shared came to mind. *U* Kathleen

Love the story, but I also love this layout! I think reading this Heritage page gave me an idea for a page I will make next time I get together with my sister. Thanks!
