I love my little patch of dirt!  It is just the right size for me.  I am not a great gardener.  Anything I plant needs to be pretty hardy and not need a lot of specialized care.  I know how to plant, water and sometimes I’ll add nutrients to the soil.  I usually plant spring/summer flowers and tomatoes.  A few years ago, I planted a Honeysuckle plant.  It has really flourished and I love the hummingbirds it attracts.  This fall I decided to try planting Tulips.  I planted them in October and I have to wait till spring to see if it worked.  I am waiting with great anticipation!

You will love these tulips come spring and be so glad you planted them!

One of my favorite books, “The Secret Garden,” has Mary asking, ““Might I, might I have a bit of earth? “To plant seeds in – to make things grow–to see them come alive.”

Hope springs eternal when we plant something in a bit of dirt. Every year I plant tomatoes knowing full well that we have only gotten a couple each year. But we’ll be at it come spring – thinking positive thoughts for a big bounty!
