How can it possibly be APRIL???? Do you know what that means? In addition to the fact that 2014 is 25% over, it’s almost our birthday! We first launched the pixels2Pages.net website on 7 April 2010, with very little idea what we were doing! Well, that’s not entirely true – we knew what we wanted to do, but we weren’t real skilled in the mechanics of making that happen. Where there’s a will, there’s a way, though, and due to lots of hard work, good planning, and diligence on the part of the 13 original Pixies, we managed to launch our website. I would be remiss if I didn’t give shout outs to Marilyn Innes, Carolyn Bodkin, Jenny MacKay, and Jeannine Campbell. While they are not still active Pixies, they were instrumental in getting us going and keeping us going. So thanks, girls – we miss you!
Still going strong after four years and keeping us viable are Shelley Alexander, Tameka Bond, Mary Browder, Justine Forrest, Janice Gilhooley, Kerrianne Hobbs, Anne Lineberger, and Kim Mannino – y’all amaze me and make me happy every day. Our newest team members Penny Peterson and Alison Woof have brought some good energy and valuable insights to the group and have helped lighten our load – we are glad to have you on the team!
We are so thankful for the support of our many members and fans, too – we wouldn’t still be going without you. Some of you reading this have been here since the beginning – you were our beta testers, and you’ve stuck with us. We appreciate you so much, and we are especially thankful for those of you who have ‘shared the p2P love’ with your friends and clients. I also find it pretty incredible that we still keep finding new things to share with you. To me, that says a whole lot about these awesome programs we use, so how about a big shout out to Panstoria, too!! It’s going to be a great month of celebration around here!
Mark your calendars now (if you haven’t already!) for the last weekend of April, when we’ll be hosting another virtual crop for you.
Before we get to all of that, though, let’s take a quick peek back at what was featured on the site in March:
This month’s Challenges featured the Format ribbon and just a few of the options available for you there. We love seeing how you interpret these challenges, created last month by Justine, Kim, Mary, Kerrianne, and Janice. If you haven’t already, post your completed Challenge pages on our Facebook page, and if you’ll get in the habit of posting the hashtags listed below when describing your page, we’re hoping it will make it easy for you to find other pages done using the same challenge. Beginning in April, we’ve decided to add the challenge number to the end of the hashtag (although the challenge page may not reflect that just yet!).
- Challenge 196 – Cloudy Backgrounds (#p2PCloudyBackgroundsC)
- Challenge 197 – Burlap Treatment (#p2PBurlapTreatmentC)
- Challenge 198 – Barely There (#p2PBarelyThereC)
- Challenge 199 – Roughing It (#p2PRoughingItC)
- Challenge 200 – Silhouette Magic (#p2PSilhouetteMagicC)
NOTE: If you are a fan of our Challenges and Blueprints Galleries, please know that we have upgraded our gallery software recently, and you may notice some ongoing changes and possibly even some glitches here and there. Please be patient as the galleries load – there are a lot of images in them and it may take a while.
If you’re not in the habit of reading the Tips, you’re missing out. One of our favorite sayings at p2P is, “You don’t know what you don’t know”, so the nice part is that you don’t have to ask – you just need to read the Tips. With your p2P membership, the answers are at your fingertips, thanks this month to Shelley and Alison:
- Artisan Tip: Converting to Different Aspect Ratios
- Artisan Tip: Using the Same Ruler Guides on Multiple Pages
- Historian Tip: Revision Management
- Journaling Tip: One Word Captions
Blueprints for March and April were created for you by Kim, Janice, Shelley, Tameka, Justine, Mary, and Kerrianne. We love it when you post your completed pages that started with Blueprints on our Facebook page – remember to use hashtags like #p2PNameofBlueprintBP (#p2PVeniceBP) when you post.
- March Blueprints: Beach Panorama (DPS), Seven in a Box (DPS), Fireworks (DPS), Shopping, Reasons to Smile, Lorikeets
- April Blueprints: By Land or By Sea (DPS), Venice (DPS), Boxed, Open Grid, Celebration of Life, Birds in the Parklands, Postcards
- Remember to save and print the Blueprint Checklists for your reference!
Lights, camera, action! I love the movies – hope you enjoyed our March videos!
- S2F: Goliath Heron – Sit back and be amazed as Shelley works her magic on this stunning page full of fun techniques!
- VT: Blended Families – Mary’s bright idea – blend two papers together and stretch your content or create the perfect background.
- VT: Multiple Surfaces – Janice has been working overtime finding new ways to apply surfaces for cool custom looks.
- VT: Be Selective – Have you ever used the wand tool in the image editor? The one that doesn’t require flattening? If not, let Penny show you how!
Perfect for lots of pages, these fabulous designs for March and April were created by our talented Design Team: Kerrianne, Mary, Justine, Anne, Janice, and Kim.
- March Big Collection: Retro Borders, Tags & Strips, The Subtle Collection, Lovely Little Dots
- April Big Collection: Spring Garden, Celebration Collection
NOTE: Starting this month (April), we are changing the way we deliver Pixie Dust in an effort to make things easier for you to find and use your Pixie Dust. Rather than having four small collections each month, we’ll be offering two larger collections – same number of embellishments for you, but it will be easier to locate and organize things. In addition, you’ll have what you need to make a page or two (or more) from one coordinated collection of Pixie Dust. As always, we welcome your feedback. Do you like this change?
Behind the Globe – Blog Posts
Every month, each p2P team member takes a turn blogging about her life – family, friends, hobbies, travel, food, photography, and of course, scrapbooking! We hope these posts give you a glimpse into our lives and offer a little peek ‘behind the globe’. Every now and then, you’ll even find a tip or a goodie, and there’s almost always a new scrapbook page attached. Enjoy!
- Shelley’s Scribbles – An organised mess
- Happy Talk with Jan – A Sweetheart of a Day
- Adventures of a Bond Girl by Tameka – The Struggle is REAL!!!
- The Buzz by Mary – Crafts: Clutter or Calming
- Pooh’s Musings with Anne – Beware the Rattlesnakes!
- Penny’s Blog – Just My Type(ing)
- Kim’s Blog – Reaching a Goal
- Justine’s Blog – Not quite what we were planning
- Words & Pictures by Alison – The Persistence of the Lemon
- Janice Gee’s Journal – Something to look forward to
- A Little Birdie Told Me by Kerrianne – All over the world
P.S. We love it when you comment on our blogs!
Workshops are back, and as a special gift, we’ve made this first workshop FREE! You are required to register for this workshop (even if you are currently an active member), but there is no cost to anyone to view it. Future workshops will be ‘pay per view’, meaning anyone, member or non-member, can purchase viewing privileges. The process will be similar to what you will do to view this Workshop, except you will be directed to PayPal to complete your purchase.
Similarly, we have some new Day2Day Pixie Dust that will coordinate with the weekly themes for those of you working on that project. Again, you must register to download the Pixie Dust, but it is free to anyone and is an ‘extra’ that is not included as part of a Pixels2Pages membership.
- FREE WORKSHOP, Dazzling Easel Card by Kim, showing how to make a darling hybrid card featuring the Dazzling Reflections software shared with us by our affiliate, Poppy Hill Designs.
- FREE Day2Day PIXIE DUST, by Alison, Janice, and Justine, perfect for those who are working with our Daily Files Kit and our weekly Day2Day themes.
- Handout: Day2Day Weekly Themes
OUR AFFILIATES and Industry Partners
As you may know, pixels2Pages has formally partnered with Panstoria to provide training on Artisan and Historian software, which Panstoria provides to us as part of our partnership agreement. In addition, pixels2Pages is proud to be an affiliate for both the Panstoria store (which sells the software and digital content) and the Panstoria Print Shop, which sells printed output. Some of the designers featured at the Panstoria store (Little Feet Designs by Janet Carr, Cottage Arts, and Kaisercraft) have provided pixels2Pages with content so that we can prepare sample pages for you; pixels2Pages does not receive free or discounted products from the Panstoria Print Shop.
We provide affiliate links for you to click through prior to purchasing content or software (please click them each time you purchase!), and the affiliate link to the Panstoria Print Shop will link your purchase records to pixels2Pages. It doesn’t cost you extra, and commissions and sample products that we receive help us enhance p2P offerings. If you are not a Panstoria affiliate or working with someone who is, we appreciate the support you give us when you click through our affiliate links. If you would like to become a Panstoria affiliate through pixels2Pages, we earn a bit more for that, too.
In addition to Panstoria, we receive affiliate commissions from several other companies when you click through our affiliate link. Among those companies are MyStory (digital printing and content in Australia), Poppy Hill Designs (Dazzling Reflections software), and FitBit (exercise monitoring devices). We have received free digital content from MyStory and discounted software from Poppy Hill Designs. Most of our team wears and uses Fitbit devices, but we paid for those!
Pixels2Pages is also an industry partner with APPO and receives some considerations and benefits from them as well. Finally, we have received free digital content from Simple Pleasures Designs by Jennifer Fehr. We want you to be fully aware of our relationships with these companies with which we are fortunate to work.
Coming very soon – our own affiliate program! We are putting the finishing touches on it – we can’t wait to reward you for bringing us new customers!

Back2Basics: We are loving seeing beginners and seasoned Artisan and SBC users learning things in Back2Basics! Even if you are a veteran digital scrapper, we encourage you to take time to review these lessons. I can almost guarantee you will learn SOMETHING! Keep in mind that if you are self-taught (or were, at the beginning) you may be doing something the hard way.
The Back2Basics course has been revamped to include training on both Artisan and SBC. Back2Basics is not included as part of a Pixels2Pages membership. You’ll need to purchase a separate Back2Basics membership if you’d like access to this training, unless you are an APPO member.
FAQs, Help! and News: If these sections aren’t the first places you go when you have a question, they should be! Almost all of your questions about memberships, PayPal, and MUCH, MUCH MORE are answered here, and you won’t have to wait for us to answer your emails.
Please have a look at our FAQs (especially if you have membership and/or PayPal questions) before using the Contact Us button – you’ll get a much quicker response!
News regarding our industry partners
Panstoria: Hopefully you took advantage of the storewide sale at Panstoria last month! You can go straight from the PDF page to purchase the kits you want. We’d love it if you clicked through our affiliate link before you make any future purchases. As mentioned above, Panstoria also has a printing affiliate program, too, which is completely different than the Panstoria store affiliate program. Click HERE if you’d like to order your printed products through pixels2Pages.
Have you purchased the “Daily Files 2014” kit and “Mali” Blueprint Book (both in two sizes – 12 x 12″ and 11 x 8.5″)? We added a number of Blueprints to the Daily Files Kit. If you have already purchased it, you should have received an email from Panstoria with a link so that you can download those new Blueprints.
NOTE: When you see kits from pixels2Pages for sale in the Panstoria store, you’ll know that they are exclusive to the Panstoria store unless we clearly state something different. This means that they are not available as part of any of our memberships nor have they been.
We’re also hearing great things from members who have ordered from the Panstoria Print Shop, and we want to share our appreciation with all of you who have chosen to use the PPS as your preferred printer. It’s certainly the easiest way to order printed projects, whether you are using Artisan or StoryBook Creator, and your support of Panstoria is crucial. Those of us who love Artisan want to be able to keep using it for many years, and printing at PPS is one way to make sure that happens.
It’s always fun when members post pictures of their latest creations and give positive reviews! As with any new endeavor, there have been a few bumps along the way – sometimes it’s not as quick and easy to get through to the Panstoria Help Line as it was to get assistance from Creative Memories, since technical support (especially live tech support) is very expensive and almost unheard of for online companies. If you have any concerns about your Panstoria Print Shop order, there is a phone number on the shipping label for you to call. If you are trying to print and have questions or problems, please check these resources FIRST:
- Printing at the Panstoria Print Shop (downloadable PDF instructions)
- Panstoria FAQs (your questions answered about Panstoria, Artisan, Historian, Digital Content, and Panstoria Print Shop)
- Panstoria Help Zone

Pixels2Pages is proud to be affiliated with Panstoria and several of our favorite designers and companies. It doesn’t cost you any more, and commissions and sample products that we receive help enhance our p2P offerings.
You will find all of our affiliate links on the first page of the tabbed links on the right-hand side of each page of our website:
If you would like to use our affiliate links when you make your purchases, please remember to click through them EACH TIME you make a purchase. The exception to this is when you are ordering from the Panstoria Print Shop – you only need to link your account with us once. If you have questions about how to do any of this, please contact us at info@pixels2Pages.net.
