Tony recently returned from a work trip to India and Dubai.  He brought the family back some yummy treats from across the world.  Mysore Pak from India and Dates from Dubai, along with other sweet goodies.  Tony’s favorite fruit/dessert are Dates. He calls them nature’s candy.  So far, I have only tried the Turkish Delight.  I couldn’t quite describe the texture until I looked up some information about this dessert.  It is the predecessor to the Jelly Bean.  That is the texture I tasted with yummy pistachios and a slight sweet flavor.  The Mysore Pak is so yummy!  It has a sweet flavor like a shortbread cookie.  The texture is like a very soft cake.  Mysore Pak is my favorite of the sweets that Tony brought home!

Your pictures are wonderful, Kim. I love dates too. My favorite Christmas “cookie” is a date ball with crispies and a coconut covering.
