I am writing my blog a little early this month, because by the time you read this I will be in the Maasai Mara, in Kenya, with any luck taking photos that look something like this:

That’s NOT my photo!! Actually it is a prize winning image and I will be thrilled if my photos are half that good! We are heading to Kenya for a 2 week photo safari timed to coincide with the annual Wildebeest Migration. Every year around 1.5 million wildebeest, along with zebras and a variety of gazelles make a long trek between the Maasai Mara in Kenya to the Serengeti in Tanzania and back. It’s one of the wonders of the natural world and an awe-inspiring sight! I have seen many documentaries about it over the years, and I am beyond excited to be able to witness it in person!!

There will be lots of other photo ops, as well as great food, very early starts, sunset drinks overlooking the African plains, new friends, “glamping”, and very full memory cards. To say I am looking forward it it would be somewhat of an understatement. We actually booked this trip about 2 years ago – Chris Bray Photography Safaris are very sought after! Now suddenly it’s almost upon us and we can’t wait! I intend to blog about it daily (if I can)  – if you’re very keen you can find my blog here.

Really looking forward to getting some big canvas prints done to decorate my bare walls here in Doha – just as soon as I can narrow it down to a few favourite shots!

Here’s a video to give you a taste of what we will be doing.

After 2 weeks in Kenya we come home just long enough to do laundry and repack. Then I’m heading off again, this time without my husband. I’ll be flying to Dallas where I’ll be meeting up with fellow Pixies Kim & Mary, and road tripping to Atlanta for Forever Live, the picture party of the year. So much to look forward to there! I will finally be meeting the rest of my p2P colleagues – I know all the other Aussies but apart from Jan and Mary I’ve never got to meet the rest of my buddies – Tameka, Anne, Kim & Penny. After working with them for so long it will be amazing to meet in person! I will get to connect with many from our p2P community (fans, followers, friends) who will be attending Forever Live with us. I will get to participate in Forever Live and hear great speakers and join in with all the fun! I’ll get to do some of those fabulous road trips I hear so much about! I will even get to run a breakout session sharing some tips on taking great travel photos – I’d better come back from Kenya with some half-way decent images or my credibility will be shot 🙂 !!

Life is good.

If you are coming to Forever Live, I look forward to seeing you there! If you can’t make it we’ll miss you – but be sure you will be hearing all about it!! And if you are still undecided – COME ALONG!! It’s going to be a blast!!!
