I never dreamed – well only in my worst nightmare, that I would be in front of people speaking.  Yet, just a few weeks ago, I was just speaking in front of hundreds of people at Forever Live, and loving it!  So glad God works on a “need to know” basis.

Let’s go back to 1997.  I had just moved to Gilroy to become a stay-at-home mom.  I joined a moms bible study at my local church.  There were about half dozen young moms.  I loved my weekly bible study and engaging with moms that had the similar joy and struggle of raising a family.  I distinctly remember one week.  The pastor was going to be away the following week and asked me to facilitate the study the next time we gathered.  I said yes, but really didn’t want to do it.  In fact, I thought, if I got really sick and was in the hospital, that would be a good excuse to not facilitate the study the following week.  I really didn’t want to be in front of anyone, leading anything!  Well, the day came, I facilitated the group and I didn’t die.

In 1998 I was introduced to Creative Memories.  I couldn’t believe I hadn’t heard of this sooner.  I loved my photos and I loved putting my photos in albums.  My friends and family encouraged me to start a Creative Memories business.  Again, I thought, I don’t want to be in front of people.  However, I thought I could share my enthusiasm for the products and what you could do with them.  It felt like a natural baby step.  Although I didn’t know where those steps were leading.  Over the next ten years I was consultant, I hosted events and training – standing in front of people and enjoying it!  I don’t know when the transformation happened.

Now, that I am a member of the pixels2Pages team, I have hosted events and lead training sessions.  I LOVE the live events.  I so enjoy sharing my love of Artisan and Historian that I don’t even think of it as “public” speaking.  Who knew?  Well, I would say God knew.  Honestly, if it were revealed to me in 1997 that I would be where I am today, I would have run the opposite direction.  I am so grateful that life is revealed to me on a need to know basis – taking baby steps toward life fulfilling experiences.

It always amazes me when a person discovers a talent hidden inside them that they didn’t know existed. I remember the first time I met you at a CM event, (I think at the theater at Oakridge Mall). I was so excited!! The thing that stuck with me then was that you were so easy to talk to and I could tell you had a passion for what you were doing and couldn’t wait to share it. I love that you have followed through with this and can’t wait to see what you’re going to come up with next.
