These four printable tutorials (13 pages in total) will give you an in depth overview of how to manage your digital art kits in Artisan 5. Click on each of the images below to download the pdf tutorials.
This one page tutorial gives you an overview of Library folders, Categories and Tags.
This 4 page tutorial is all about Library folders. Library folders are how your content is first introduced to the software.
This 4 page tutorial is all about Categories. You can put one kit into multiple categories without duplicating the kit.
This 4 page tutorial is all about Tags. Tags allow you to organize the elements within a kit.

Thinking about starting to do this after seeing one of the Pixies screens during the crop. The instructions talk about needing to re-enter the activation codes. If I move all of my purchased kits around into new folders, is there a way to apply everything again? I have so many activation codes, that I’m not sure I’ll know which codes go with which kits.
TIA
If you are just moving the kits around, you don’t need to re-enter any activation codes. But, always be sure you have saved a copy of the codes.
THIS IS AMAZING – I’m really not as good at the Artisan software as I thought and these “cheat sheets” are a true gold mine. Thank you for leaving this information on the files and always available (I did print them anyway, I just love to have the handy reference IN HAND). Love to the Pixies! Deborah in Florida
I am so glad you did this reference. Thank God its still here. I am moving stuff and backing stuff up before I update the new A5 update today.
Gold mine! Saving this page. Organization is key with all the goodies we have from CM, Forever, etc.
Thankyou. Much appreciated. Hope all the Pixies and their families have a great Christmas.
Thanks so much Patricia, and same to you!
Oh My Gosh!! Does this mean I finally have to get it all organized!!! I think we need a month long workshop for this!!
Haha – it might mean exactly that! And I won’t promise a month long workshop, but stay tuned …
This info is wonderful. Thank you so much. By the way, mine printed fine… all of them!
Question on Adding to the Library – in the past, I’ve always just clicked on the link when my order is completed, and the Kit has automatically installed and loaded into Artisan, without asking me where the Kit should go. Now that I’ve organized and moved my kits from their original location, I’m wondering where new kits will go. Is there a default somewhere in Artisan that I can change to tell it where to store new kits in my computer? I can’t find it. Thanks!
This is an old tip Barbara but although the screenshots look a bit different the method is the same.
I can’t get the Categories pages to load. I was able to get the others.
It seems to be working OK for others. Maybe try refreshing the page, and try again.
Thank you so very much, dear Pixies, for this wealth of information! I always seem to need a little extra guidance when I have not “practiced” on Artisan in a while!
You’d better keep practicing then Linda 🙂
It is! thanks!
Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I am going to finally get my stuff organized!
The overview page is loading as mostly gray. I cannot see any content. I am using Chrome as my browser.
Sorry – try again – it should be OK now!
I can’t seem to get the Overview of the Folders to load fully. The others are perfect. Thank You.
Sorry – try again – it should be OK now!
