Happy Talk with Jan McCallum - how digital scrapbooking works in my life at pixels2Pages.net

It’s been my pleasure and great fortune to have been back in North Carolina for the past week, not only because I have gotten to see my grands for an extended time for the third time in six weeks, but also because I was here to celebrate Gray’s first birthday!  Let me just say – this little boy knows how to have a good time!

It was fun to be here for the festivities and for the preparation.  Markee had the house all decorated for Christmas before I got here, so it was easy to focus on the party.  Mimi (Markee’s mom) came down, too, so you can imagine the laughs we shared.  I was thrilled that Markee had asked me to make a few things in Forever Artisan™ beforehand, and I was really pleased with the way they turned out.  She had found some ideas on Pinterest and it was a snap to create exactly what she wanted.  I made a 5×7″ invitation, a 16×20″ ‘My First Birthday’ canvas, and an 8.5×11″ sign for the door, all with an airplane/pilot theme.  Gray even had a darling little pilot shirt, and his mom had found cute little airplane and cloud confetti for the table.  The color theme was teal, red, and grey – everything was just perfect.  And bonus – Gray was thoroughly entranced by his balloons!

I encourage you to ‘think outside the box’ when it comes to using Artisan – the possibilities truly are endless!  HERE are some party favor ideas you may want to consider, even though these posts are not recent, because the ideas are still good ones.  You may even put some to good use for your holiday dinners and parties!  Have you thought about having a ‘photo booth’ at some of your holiday gatherings?  Check out Masquerade Parade and Banner Workshop for inspiration.   Again, older posts, but great ideas!

It’s a busy season, and I hope you’ve got some festive ideas in mind for your upcoming holiday events, so I’ll stop now and give you time to put your plans into action.  Here are a couple of pages from Gray’s birthday party:

Beautifully done Jan, as you can usually see by my post I adore children. First birthdays are the greatest cause you just never know what’s going to happen. I’m so happy for you that you got to be there and have those wonderful memories.

How fun! Our grandson, Nathan, turned one on Dec. 3rd but he doesn’t like to get messy and he doesn’t like sweets so the smash cake wasn’t truly a smash cake. I have a picture of him gently poking at the frosting. You have some great pictures and it looks like everyone had a great time.
