Jan called me in December 2009 and asked if I wanted to be part of creating a company that would train on the use of StoryBook Creator. She gathered 13 women and by the spring of 2010, we were well on our way to creating pixels2Pages. On August 11, 2011, we signed our first contract as a company and began selling memberships on August 23, 2011. In April 2016, we sold our company to Forever Inc. It has been quite a journey from December 2009 to August 2017.

I met Jan when I was serving on the Creative Memories Digital Design team. We got to work together on a webinar.  I remember telling her, I didn’t want to do any of the talking.  The webinar featured StoryBook Creator tools to creatively create digital elements.  Back in those days, the software’s digital tools were limited.  But, I figured out how to get the software to do what I wanted it to do.

In December 2009 Jan called me.  She invited me to be a part of a web-based training company that would feature digital scrapbooking.  That company would become pixels2Pages. She gathered very talented women from around the world.  I remember calling Jan after a couple meetings, saying I didn’t think I belonged in this group.  Jan encouraged me to stay.  I am so grateful that she didn’t let me quit before I even really begun.

The p2P team has worked hard and played hard over the last 7 years!  We have had successes and setbacks, but in the end we were successful.   We learned how to collaborate with 13 creative women. We learned how to believe the best in each other. And, we did it all remotely from our homes around the world.  I think at one time we were in 5 different time zones.  I feel like we have come through the fire and formed a bond that cannot be broken.

Jan is an incredibly gifted leader.  She is generous and gracious.  She has integrity and strength in character.  She taught me always to start with believing  the best of people.  Jan, you poured your heart and passion into me.  I am forever grateful that you included me in this world-wide adventure!

Thank you so much my friend and happy travels!

I just had the HONOR to meet and spend a couple of days with retired Jan and what a dynamo! She may be retired but I suspect she will always be available for support. That’s how she rolls!

How can I ever thank you, Jan, for gathering the best of the best to start this wonderful (ad)venture that would be so successful and so needed by folks like me? Love you all!!!

I cannot believe you rang Jan to tell her you didn’t think you belonged to the group. Oh Kim, I was the one who was like a fish out of water. I didn’t and don’t have a creative bone in my body.

Thanks, Kim!! I’m so glad you stuck it out, too – you are an awesome part of a fabulous team! xx
